Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, SiteOrigin isn't the author of the kf-core-widgets plugin. The issue will need to be corrected by the widget authors.

Thanks, that's weird, kf-core-widgets/readme.txt (attached if you're interested) mentions SiteOrigin, but, it looks like a version of so-widgets-bundle (I know, I should have raised this query there) from about 2 years ago.

Could it be that the Page Builder Widgets plugin came bundled with Page Builder plugin?

If it did, should it not have updated automatically to so-widgets-bundle?

If not, and we make that update manually, will the content that uses kf-core-widgets still work within so-widgets-bundle?

Hi Sam

It's possible the authors forked the Widgets Bundle. Once a fork has occurred, the forked plugin is under the care of the forking authors. All of our public plugins are available for forking here on GitHub.

Could it be that the Page Builder Widgets plugin came bundled with Page Builder plugin?

Unfortunately, I can't say. Any bundling of this nature would be beyond our support scope.

If it did, should it not have updated automatically to so-widgets-bundle?

Automatic updates will only be run if you're using SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and or SiteOrigin Page Builder. Once a fork or bundling occurs, automatic updates cease. Forking or bundling unfortunately isn't the best-case way to extend or customize Page Builder or the Widgets Bundle.

If not, and we make that update manually, will the content that uses kf-core-widgets still work within so-widgets-bundle?

A diff would need to be run. You'd need to compare kf-core-widgets folder to the version of the Widgets Bundle used for the fork to figure out what the authors changed or added.

Hi Sam,

I'm going to close this issue as this issue relates to a third-party fork of SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle rather than the official version. I hope Andrew's reply helped provide some direction on how to proceed. If you're stuck, I definitely recommend reaching out to the author of the fork if you haven't already as they may have an update available.
