Currently you can only decode mp3s with timbre.js in Node. This plugin allows you to decode mp3s in the browser using jsmad and web workers.

evaluate the usage of webworkers

Loading large mp3 files causing the browser to hang. Evaluate whether or not this work can be done in a webworker. If so, would the serialization between the worker and the main thread cause the same type of UI locking?
