This is due to an enormous amount of JavaScript on the page. I've encountered other websites with similar issues, but not as bad as in your video.
As a workaround (until this gets fixed) you can use YesScript and blacklist http://www.redandwhitekop.com in the YesScript settings.

I've pinpointed the issue to http://s.skimresources.com/js/10544X689870.skimlinks.js which is included on the website mentioned above. It seems that http://skimresources.com/ made a very bad performing piece of JavaScript.

Please test with these about:config values with YesScript disabled:
[email protected] to false
[email protected] to false
[email protected] to false
Does the problem go away?

Hi, I'm the original "reviewer". I am using ublock origin and http://s.skimresources.com/js/10544X689870.skimlinks.js is blacklisted in it so I don't think it would have affected it(?)
Just tried YesBlock and with those sites blacklisted the issue still remains.
Unfortunately with these settings http://i.imgur.com/EoXJhx7.png it's still as slow as it was.

Have you tried disabling multiprocess Firefox (e10s) if it is enabled? I noticed that without e10s enabled, Multi Links Plus responds more quickly.
from firefoxaddons.
No and I don't see a way to do it.

Which Firefox version are you using?
from firefoxaddons.
Multiprocess was disabled on my FF as it turned out.
Currently I am using 51 beta.

Please try previous versions of Multi Links Plus and check if the issue exists there also. I would like to know where the issue originated from, or if it was inherited from the original Multi Links. Start with the oldest versions and go to more recent versions.
I cannot do this myself since I can't reproduce the issue anymore. Also, you could try Multi Links Plus 3.9.2 which was released the day before yesterday.

I noticed Multi Links Plus is really unstable and slow when e10s (multi process) is enabled in Nightly. Opening links takes about 5-10 seconds, and hundreds of errors appear in browser console such as these:
unsafe/forbidden CPOW usage RemoteAddonsParent.jsm:872:2
unsafe/forbidden CPOW usage linksmanager.js:396:13
unsafe/forbidden CPOW usage jscode.js:306
from firefoxaddons.
That's indeed the case. Multi Links Plus is not yet compatible with multiprocess firefox (e10s). So if you want to use Multi Links Plus without issues, you need to disable e10s for the time being.

I can't browse web without this addon, so I'm forced to single process Firefox for the time being.
This addon also lags much more on 64-bit Firefox than 32-bit.

@Tapsa Thanks for the info. I will look into it.
