This seems to unify RCP over both http and http2 (basis for gRPC) :

• http://frees.io/docs/rpc/core-concepts

I can see, though, that tapir is about a lower level way to define apis.

@SemanticBeeng isn't this only for gRPC? Anyway, as you write, tapir is about describing http endpoints, with http-specific details (query parameters, forms, etc.). freestyle-rpc is about consuming & exposing gRPC-compatible endpoints.
