The above change will actually be a more accurate solution than trying to keep things in check with the conditional if statement. Your suggestion would not have solved the problem correctly either. Thanks for the report though. Your attention to detail is appreciated. I'll have this merged soon and try and push another version to the supermarket later today.
If we were going to stick with the if.. a better result would be from checking:
if ( (mem/con) > 1 )
but this will produce a more accurate result and then we can just pass the result right along.

Also, a note.. Ubuntu 14.04 and Centos 7 both operate with systemd. This cookbook currently does not support systemd. Although I would like to have that support available asap.

Thanks @slyness . Ubuntu 14.04 uses upstart as the default init system, but I think future versions by default will use systemd
