Comment by Michele De La Pena on JIRA:
From direct Slack to me:
December 2023
I am one of the maintainers of the astrocut package (bfalk). I noticed that drizzlepac is pinning astrocut<=0.9 and it seems to be because of a urllib3 incompatibility, which I spotted both in the changelog for drizzlepac as well as your comments in the jira ticket here: https://jira.stsci.edu/browse/HLA-1145
There's no immediate urgency, but our application hapcut, makes use of drizzlepac, and it would be nice to be able to stay up to date with astrocut releases.
I'd be interested in working with you or whoever I need to in order to identify what the problem is and hopefully fix it, either on the astrocut or drizzlepac side of things. I do have a ticket here about this issue: https://jira.stsci.edu/browse/ASB-24575.

I recall you sent a question about this. I am not sure our version of hap_cut is actually necessary, but I will have to review the utility and ask folks in INS. I will reach out to folks, but I probably will not get any response back until next week. It is OK to get back to later in the week next week?
It might be that I can fix our version of the utility so that I can remove the astrocut pin, but I have to examine the code to figure out the issue.
