There's also a compile-time dependency on junit that it'd be nice to get rid of too

The 'spring-rabbit-admin' project does require 'compile' scope for the junit and spring-test dependencies, because they are used by code in its 'test' package.

However, the main parent POM now provides 'test' scope as the default (which affects the 'spring-amqp-core' and 'spring-rabbit' modules) while the 'spring-rabbit-admin' project does have those dependencies at compile time since the scope is overridden for that module's POM.
