What happens if you run the notebook directly in jupyter notebook or jupyter lab? I strongly suspect this is a vscode issue.

It still crashes in Jupyter. However, I ran the code in another environment that has statsmodels in it and it ran fine. The kernel must've corrupted during the update or something. I'll look into restoring the environment. Thanks.
