Turns out when you do new Error(), this takes ~20ms on initial run and 2-3 ms afterwards on each run, damn this is costly!

Here are the results people, everytime we do new Error().stack, Atom's hooks in the error stack generator are triggered, it has to reverse the paths in it using source maps and stuff and that is what takes even ~30ms sometimes. Therefore I have concluded that our package is only taking a milisecond or two and the lag is from the Atom environment.

console.timeEnd('error constructor')

^ it has to be in a valid file to work, it's super-fast in console 'cause there aren't no files in stack when executed from console
