I had the same issues running npm install, and neither --legacy-peer-deps nor updating those twilio packages unblocked me.

However, running yarn install (with yarn version v1.22.19) did the trick! I made sure to delete my node_modules directory. I still got a number of warnings, but no errors! And the project runs just fine with yarn start.

Have you tried forcing the legacy dependencies? You'll get a bunch of warnings, but it won't error out.
npm i --legacy-peer-deps

@prashantkumar-alagiya prashantkumar-alagiya and others, if you get an 'unable to resolve dependency tree', what worked for me was to bump up the versions of @twilio-paste/core and @twilio-paste/icons. You can do this by running npm install @twilio-paste/icons@latest --legacy-peer-deps and then npm install @twilio-paste/core@latest --legacy-peer-deps.

I now have the following versions working fine:

    "@twilio-paste/core": "^14.0.0",
    "@twilio-paste/icons": "^8.0.2",
