https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfddXQlF1vA It has different graphics designs, the aliens don't group up in a rectangular box, they fly down in line formation and zig-zag pathway with several lines, and they do not fire. You can have up to five shots at any given time. I couldn't compile it, I think it's due to 64bit, might need to set up the cross-compiling for i386, but I didn't try and it wouldn't help me to record the GRUB. And from the glance of the source code, it directly accesses to the video buffer 0xb8000. An emulator is the answer, so I compiled a QEMU 2.5.0 i386-softmmu, and that's what you saw in recording. I tried to use `-curses` it works partially in terminal, the arrow keys didn't register, but fire [space] did. I decided to go with `-sdl` with resizing. Anyone wants to fork it for making it a regular program, or dual for booting and normal program? It's quite unique, worth getting an update after nearly 15 years. And go check out the author's website's homepage, there is some kind crazy stuff going on there, trains and even built his own 3D printer, that guy must be a wizard by night. $$$$ # with qemu (i386-softmmu) % pc-bios/qemu-system-i386 -kernel invaders -sdl $$$$
