For the symbols with a hyphen (-) or &, try searching symbol in tradingview website first.
Like for this its BAJAJ_AUTO1

And same for M&M

there is no built-in methods to check symbol name. So when invalid symbol is requested, it just waits for socket close.

Thanks! you actually helped me solve the issue, I was able to go and add a timeout value to def __create_connection(self)
so the modified code is now

    def __create_connection(self):
        logging.debug("creating websocket connection")
        self.ws = create_connection(
            "wss://data.tradingview.com/socket.io/websocket", headers=self.headers, timeout=9
        )
