Hi, any reasons for removing the public part ?
I'm starting to use ecDB and maybe play with it and have interest in the public part.

I didnt like the idea of it. If I make component A, and you use it, then I come back and totally change it, your at my mercy. When I looked at implementing it, I didnt like the ownership idea (everyone can change would be a nightmare, owner can change would put everyone at their mercy, etc). I dont think the idea of public components was well thought out.

You can always go back to Electricmans original branch that has the public components in it. None of the code behind it exists, so you would have to write it anyway it you wanted it.

Hmm yea right about editing parts.
What i would imagine for "public components" would just be a read-only list, like having a show page with selected components. (use case: i have a lot of components i don't really need and a public page to show them could be usefull)
