Just spent 2/3 hours on this. Thank you @hvdklauw . You're a lifesaver.
(And yes, I'm experiencing the same thing, completely hangs Sublime Text when using 2.2.3)

Python 3.4 + flake8 2.2.3:
SublimeLinter: ERROR: exception in flake8.check: Required argument 'name' (pos 4) not found
2.2.2 work fine
