@ScorxIon , it is actually a warning telling you that all recorded audio samples are equal to 0, meaning your audio is completely silent. It probably means there is an issue, for instance with your audio settings. There use to be a Chrome bug on both Windows and Linux with the same result, they have fixed it, but your issue might still be related.

So you might make sure your audio device is not muted, and might try another web app using web audio input (make sure it is not using flash). You can for instance try this one:
http://webaudiodemos.appspot.com/pitchdetect/index.html

Let me know if you find anything.

@syl22-00 , Thank you for the added information. I did some more targeted testing. It looks like it is recording fine for the first few seconds and then cutting out for some reason. This happens with the live demo for pocketsphinx.js as well as with the pitch detector you linked.

I can now reproduce the issue 100% so I've made a quick screen cast to demonstrate it. I don't intend on sharing it widely so I just uploaded it as a raw avi to: http://www.scorxion.net/video/speech_test.avi. You should be able to save it and view it offline in any video player.

Edit: Looking over the video, there appears to be a quick stutter in firefox just before the audio recording stops working. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

@ScorxIon many thanks for digging into that. I just googled your behavior and it seems to be a Firefox bug:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/984179

They give a workaround, I'll try it and I may ask you for help to test it as I can't reproduce it so far.

@syl22-00 In the OP I stated that this issue was also occurring in Google Chrome. After followup testing it appears I was mistaken.

Re- the bug report. Seems like a scoping issue like that would manifest itself in other areas in Firefox than just recording audio. Fortunately the work around shouldn't be too bad, although a bit ugly.

Just let me know when / if you need testing done. I'm happy to assist in any way.

@ScorxIon I actually could reproduce the issue, and the proposed hack did fix it. So it seems like we're good now, let me know if you still face issues with Firefox or Chrome.
