nifs in a dependency are not compiled about mad

which one? how it fails ? which OS ?
mad has no nifs.

I am on a Debian Testing, it doesn't fail (it silently ignores the nifs).
ah ok. if nifs are not supported at all by mad, then it is obvious. Could this be mentioned inside Readme.md? Is there any work going on to support nifs in the future?

is is the basho/bitcask.git that contains nifs.

Ah you mean bitcask. That is another story.
Yes it is not yet supported. I will give a look on that.
mad compile nifs but not very mature, only our projects.

It would be useful if you tell all dep stack you're using.

Ok I will take a look on bitcask today and will try to make mad more rebar compatible.

Unfortunately bitcask will not be supported by mad.
