Cyptocurrency prices on MacBook Touch Bar.

Supported cryptocurrencies:

• Bitcoin
• Bitcoin Cash
• Ethereum
• Litecoin
• Ripple
• IOTA
• Cardano

Prices are in USD and updated every 15 seconds.

Ripple, IOTA and Cardano prices are calculated by XRP/ETH price from Binance multiplied with ETH price from Coinbase.

Other prices are spot price in USD from Coinbase.

The app runs in background and can be accessed anywhere by tapping the ₿ icon on the Touch Bar Control Strip.

Quit the app

The app runs in background and has no visible icon on the dock. To quit the app, please use Activity Monitor, search for the CoinPriceBar process and terminate it.

I don't have much spare time as I used to so I am no longer be able to customize the app for you but it is easy to do that on your own. Have a look at the files Data.swift and Money.swift. The code should be self-explained and you should be able to modify it to fit your needs.

coinpricebar's Issues

Feature request: downgrade to osx 10.12.x?

Reasons:
1)even latest MacBooks pro (2017) come with preinstalled 10.12.6, NOT 10.13.x
2)10.13.x is very unstable
3)touchbar is available since 10.12.2

I tried to decrease the minimum version only but it causes a crash without console log. The possible reasons:
1)10.12.6
2)my MacBook Pro hasn't touchbar (BUT Xcode can simulate it)

Broken after sleep

When I put my MacBook to sleep and wake it a bit later, all texts are gone and the whole bar is black (except the system items). Touching the app icon doesn’t do anything, still stays black.

XRP IOTA and ADA no longer working

Just displaying as "XRP IOTA ADA" on my machine. Every other coin is working

after modifying how to rebuild and operating in the background

Can u please add EUR currency ? Or add a quick tuto how to build and test.

Can't get XTZ to work

I realise new coin requests are not supported but thought I'd ask anyway. I tried to edit the money and data files but the price and ꜩ symbol don't show only "XTZ". If anyone knows how to do this I'd appreciate the help.

Make it easy to build

Can you add instructions on how to build or even better a Makefile?

Since you're not supporting much, it's easier for other people to just fork build and use on their own currencies/coins...

prices are different

The prices are from Coinbase.
how can I show the prices from Coinmarketcap ?

Impossible to open application when Control Strip is not shown

My Control Strip is turned off, so whenever I switch focus to any app, I lost CoinPriceBar and can't get access to it without manual relaunch.

A possible solution would be activation by tapping Control ^ twice (like in Pock).

wondering if you can make a modified version for me?

could you make a version that is in Canadian fiat. and has Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin , Monero, zilliqa, stellar lumens, Cardano, ark, polymath. that would make my Touch Bar actually very useful. I would be very grateful. thank you so very much for you talents and what you contribute without talents like yours helping out the world would be a whole lot shittier.
