Hi Michelle,

The creation of metacells is not affected at all by the 'priority' parameter. It is only used for annotating (=coloring) the metacells.

You can have several genes defining the same group of metacells (e.g. cell type). However, note that the color of a metacell is determined by its strongest marker (the maximal gene enrichment of the genes used for coloring times their priority).

We will publish shortly a vignette describing the process of metacell annotation with an alternative method, which is less supervised and more robust.
