I should have mentioned that also make_scmrev.js doesn't seem to be part of the build step. I had to execute it manually... so maybe that's a problem too. If it was made part of the build step though, it would add the Git dependency; is there a way to make that script fallback if it can't find Git on your PATH?

(Sorry this is just descriptions instead of a pull request, but I'm not very familiar with javascript or how this build revision number system works at the moment.)

Should probably have also specified that I'm using the VC 2010 solution. Not sure if the build steps are set up differently for the 2014 version one (don't have 2014 installed currently).
