Subtitles are the _only_ GM2 feature that I'd condone implementing in Lua 
instead,
and even then, that sort of undermines the intention of putting them in the 
spec,
which was so that they would be contained directly within the submission files,
reducing hard-drive clutter, and simplifying the watching process overall.

Worth checking out, I suppose. Emulation should be stable before we think too hard though, and TAS-related stuff should be collectively brainstormed at that time.
