Bad Crash Bug #10987 Continued about newpipe

I have a device with the same or similar problem. (0.27.0 on Android 13)

The symptoms are the same but the app doesn't crash, it only hangs and displays the "NewPipe isn't responding" dialog.
When clicking "Wait" the app can be used normally until the dialog comes back after a few seconds.

Scoop doesn't record anything as the app doesn't crash, only hang.

How many downloaded files do you have? A few or many? (Me: very many)
When clicking "Downloads" from the side menu, do the downloaded files appear instantly or take some time? (Me: takes 3-7 seconds)

• It's a new phone so actually not that many, like 30.
• When I click downloads tab, white screen pops up for like 5 seconds then crash right after. I don't even get to see the contents.
