All physics calculations have to happen in real time, which makes realistic simulation of physics difficult.
Some changes are impractical because of the way Powder Toy is currently coded - we don't want to rewrite the whole program.
And also note that Powder Toy is a game. It takes a lot of inspiration from real life, but frequently ignores reality when convenient.
Of course, you're welcome to have a go at doing some of these yourself.
