Out of interest what os are you running and at what resolution?

@f73d4d7 should make a difference to the space between the marker and the code content. Feel free to tweak to your preference though.

It never fails, within 5 min of hitting the send button I figure out the cause. But your fix does the trick, so it's all good.

Many monospace Google fonts use a slightly larger carat character. I'm using an extension that lets the user replace the default font.
