I think this suggestion might make the math work out for starfruit, but I may not be understanding how complicated the in-game growth calculations are. Not sure if the following is accurate, but it is making me questions some of the assumptions I made.

I found this in the stardew 1.11 code

To me this suggests that the phases aren't as important like the reddit post says. I think it's just summing the days and calculating time to grow based on that. At least this makes it clear that they are using ceiling instead of floor.

So, after finishing out the month I have 3 harvests on the starfruit. It's 9 days per harvest. I didn't take into account that we start on day 1, not day 0. Looks like I must not be understanding what is happening in the Stardew code. What I'm seeing on the site does reflect what I saw in game so I am closing this issue.
