This is a great idea that I'd been meaning to get to. There are now tidy/augment/glance methods for merMod (which includes lmerMod)- see
?tidy.merMod
for documentation and example usage. Since I have only limited experience with mixed effects models and thus had to make some educated guesses of what is valuable in a tidy output, I'd be very interested to hear feedback and take issues/pull requests for improvements/bug fixes.
