event.stopPropagation() and event.preventDefault() are called on the necessary starting events. This is done for several reasons, including support for panzoom elements within panzoom elements and support for devices with both touch and mouse events (such as laptops with touch screens). However, there was a similar issue opened not long ago regarding a select element within the panzoom element. If you handle the event directly, you can stopPropagation and prevent the event from reaching panzoom at all and handle the appropriate click/touch on your element. Here's the example I wrote for that: http://codepen.io/timmywil/pen/lpIaG.

from panzoom.
