Does event log have any more information?

Can you try the following to make sure you have a clean install:

1. Uninstall iisnode for iis7express
2. Close WebMatrix and IISExpress
3. Delete the IISExpress folder from your Documents folder
4. Install iisnode for iis7express again

No luck I'm afraid. Error is still the same...

The newly created application.config has the following new iisnode entries which all seem to be in the right places (which I've seen before)

in the globalModules section

and in location[path=""]/system.webServer/modules

in the section groups

and last the virtual directory

iisnode runs in WebMatrix\IIS Express on Windows XP with the fixes from 1e93ed7.
