What version are you testing? Sending an empty data object will cause needle to throw, not to callback an error. That's the expected behaviour.

I'm testing on version 0.4.8. Ok, but it works fine (i mean it does not throw error) without multipart option. I think it should works in both cases the same, no?

Makes sense. I just pushed an update that verifies both the type and length of the object. In both cases it will throw.
