I do agree readFileSync is bad and I actually replaced for its asynchronous brother readFile. However supporting Streams would need refactoring a big portion of the code (i.e. the whole build_multipart_body wouldn't be too useful). If you're willing to submit a patch I'd be happy to review and merge it.

I plan to at some point. Hopefully it won't be on company time, so I can release it.

Ok I'm closing this issue since Needle already uses the non-blocking fs.readFile call. If you want to make a pull request with the Stream strategy I'll be happy to merge it.
