I don't have any IE11 to test with.
But maybe you could replace the es6-shim script by something like that:

I haved pushed a solution that detect IE and use your event in that case.
Can you confirmed that it fixed the problem?
( you will need to npm update after git pull)

It works, except I made a mistake, it should be like this:

initEvent('resize')

      var event = document.createEvent("Event");
      event.initEvent('resize', false, true);
      window.dispatchEvent(event);

But when I add this new event I seem to introduce a new problem, if you toggle the menu-aside and make it small so only the icons are visible. Then there is supposed to be a popup with the name of the page. This no longer work when I add this resize event in app.component.
