Not sure if you've seen this, but I have been using a bootstrap modification of simple_form to work around this.

FYI I don't know if you spotted this little GEM (https://github.com/stouset/twitter_bootstrap_form_for) - its pretty neat and JustWorked TM -- I am not the author but -- was wanting the same thing

I think some simple helpers would be useful. For forms, I am content using the simple_form bootstrap configuration.
