You are missing typescript.

run:

npm install

from the folder that has package.json in your project. Be sure to have a dependency on grunt-ts:

    "grunt": "~0.4.1",  
    "grunt-ts": ">=0.3.7"
    }
}

This will download grunt-ts + any dependencies of grunt-ts (e.g typescript) for you :).

Ya, I had that. Still getting the error. I am on Mac OSX 10.7.5

Try the latest version :
"grunt-ts": "=0.4.2"

just did a push to npm : https://npmjs.org/package/grunt-ts
