I see your point, however, I would argue that this is subject to a definition decision. At a given point of time k+i being in state x_{k+i} and applying action u_{k+i} we might technicaly receive the reward / cost only at time step k+i+1, however, we can formally assign this reward to the state / action pair at k+1.
In any case, despite this arguement the current notation is inconsistent with our later MDP definitions (e.g., from the 2nd lecture) we the reward is formaller assigned to the state / action par from the previous time step. So we will change the according slides in lecture01 to make the consistent with the following sections.
