I found that "onFileOver" fires with a false if the file is dropped and added to the queue. This solves my main issue, but it is far from intuitive. I still think a separate "onFileDrop" event should fire with the file details.

This event also fires AFTER the file is added to the queue, but if autoUpload is enabled, the files are uploaded prior to being able to take any actions. Seems like this event should fire after the file added to queue, but BEFORE the autoUpload is checked and potentially processed.

I located the extension points on the uploader, that solve my problem -- onAfterAddingFile and onCompleteItem.

But this seems against NG2 way of doing things. Shouldn't these be events instead of empty functions to be overridden?
