Strange, I thought alternate build is actually MSVC?

I don't think so.
It's easy to check, take a alternate build, make few turns, and after that take build from github msvs and do the same.
In first case spend time will very much (alternate), and second one everythings will be fine (msvs).

That's weird. msvc is Alternate:
mingw -> VCMI-Windows.exe
mingw-32 -> VCMI-Windows32bit.exe
msvc -> VCMI-WindowsAlternate.exe

I think he got the naming reversed, but I can confirm I'm seeing the same thing. I came looking because I noticed drastically slower performance in Windows than Linux, but then realized I was using the alternate build. When I reinstalled using the mingw installer it got more in line with what I see in Linux.
