I must have overwritten my previously compile transformers with some pip install command. By recompiling xformers (only this gives the full CUDA support) I am now seeing the images show up correctly

I also pushed some changes to the conversion that is saving to .ckpt files last week, half or full should both be working in whatever webui/inference app. @UrbanLegendXV

I'm not familiar with the "unrecognized data stream..." error but if you can post your .log and the _cfg.json from the logs folder for the run it would help me give advice.

V2 also seems to completely destroy photos giving a "unrecognized data stream contents when reading image file" after the first use of a set

Maybe it's trying something tricky but it's definitely extra experimental.

I have found similar mentions (reddit) for SD producing black images that suggest to disable half-precision / enable full-precission on certain NVIDIA cards. I'm running an A10G, but will now try the undocumented
--save_full_precision
for train.py
