I'm running Vimperator 3.9 (2015-02-15), Firefox 36.0 on Mac (at least at work; I can test at home on Linux later) and it is not fixed for me.

With a select box focussed, I press escape and I am still in INSERT mode with the select box focussed. I can't get out of that with the escape key.

Oh, sorry, it isn't in vimp 3.9. However, the fix should be available in master.
I'll try and get a nightly release out soon.
