When in the map, create an option to choose the "Time Interval" of the occurrences.
Instead of last 8 hours create an option "Since now to 1/2/3/4 hours."
This will avoid the overload of occurrences in the "same Place" when it's a day with a storm for example.

Example:

Allow users to watch the nearest IPMA weather stations to the occurrences IPMA OBS SUPERFICIE or try to integrate the MF2 IPMA http://mf2.ipma.pt/continent

With this tool users are available to follow the weather conditions and the forecast

Integrate the waze live map in a way to follow the current status of traffic Flow near an occurrence.

Example : a wildfire near to a highway and vosties can see if there is traffic problems due to the wildfire.

• Embed the public webcams available for Portugal in a system like Windy Webcams . like an activable layer available in the map menu.
• When an occurrence it's available suggest what is the nearest webcam available.

A practical example of this feature:

Use @tomahock geo files to see the situation per county.

Get an option to follow a "word" or "hashtag" to follow an occurrence on Twitter

Example: A storm who turn off all the eletricity in Braga.
Tweets like: "Estou sem luz em Braga :(" using the keyword "Braga" to aggregate all tweets about the occurrence.

An embed like Tweetdeck could be an option.

Create an option where logged in members or with another way of "allowed users control" can submit photos to an occurrence like a thread or a photo grid, this photos should have a timestamp or time indicator.
This will allow an organized visual information of an occurrence.
