From what I can see the $elasticsearch::params::init_defaults hash isn't even necessary because these parameters are already set directly in the init script and then overwritten by sourcing the /etc/default/elasticsearch file.

So setting custom defaults or overriding existing ones should be a simple matter of supplying a hash to $elasticsearch::init_defaults containing the parameters one wants to set. This hash then gets translated to a valid /etc/default/elasticsearch file which gets sourced by the init script.

Or am I getting this wrong?
