Hi,
That's weird that it supplies the version because it shouldn't care about it since you are installing a deb package directly.
Will have a look at this asap.

Hi,
Are you sure you haven't set the version in the class call?
Its the only way the version number could be set for the package action.

Ok my bad, I had a settings named elasticsearch::version in my hieradata which was conflicting with the version from this package.
I'm closing this issue, thank your for your quick reply.
