Looks like they switched to using upstart and not standard SYS V init. I guess I'll figure out how to make that work.

Looks like puppet does not yet support upstart on RHEL:

This was after applying 3751b53 on our Virtual Machines we are running a mix of EL 5 and 6 (about 20 hosts). No modifications were made to the module (which was installed using the tool) other than what was published in commit 3751b53. Cheers.
