This will not do anything, so the files won't be sorted unless msgmerge is invoked.

This issue has been added to the backlog. It is not scheduled on the Weblate roadmap, but it eventually might be implemented.
In case you need this feature soon, please consider helping or push it by funding the development.

The wrapper is textwrap.TextWrapper subclass which is responsible for wrapping PO content. The width attribute configures its width, see https://github.com/translate/translate/blob/78c6ac99d71b3d12bcf7db7a076861b7e76d99b1/translate/storage/pypo.py#L940
