It's actually a really simple javascript implementation, only took me 3-4 lines of code. I'll make a PR over the weekend

This is possible however not through the python layer currently. VisJS does support onlick event handling that I have used in the past with pure javascript. It is possible to modify the templates used to render the graphs to include custom JS onclick events but is lacking implementation. I will keep this open since this a cool feature.
