Yes, plugins need to migrate to async functions and ES modules for Prettier 3.

Which our plugin did, starting from 0.11.0, we only distribute as ESM + async. So we only support Prettier 3 and its ESM features.
I think for CJS config usage, you can maybe link to the index.js instead of the directory and Prettier will somehow know to use ESM imports for it?
I'll close this issue, since it's unrelated to the plugin itself and more so a Prettier 3 thing to document and manage for the user. Our README recommends an ESM config already
from prettier-plugin-astro.
