Why can't you install VirtualBox + the Cloudera VM on your machine?

@crawld it seems to be an issue with my machine configuration (3 years old) and Ubuntu version not supported by Oracle Virtual Box. I could not find the appropriate binaries, it broke some packages when I attempted to install it

Looks like no official VirtualBox package for Ubuntu 17.10 yet:

If you don't want to wait for the Ubuntu 17.10 package, Cloudera does provide VMWare, KVM, etc., VM images. You could try one of these, but the Coursera hands-on exercises have not been tested on these.
