Adding padding to the body element in order to accommodate the scrollbar is not a good practice. You can refer to most of your favorite websites, including GitHub, and you will notice that they have set the padding to zero on the body element to reset the browser's default padding. If I may ask, on which screen size do you see the text overlapped by the scrollbar?
