Not sure what happened.
it was fixed here:

Seems like I (we) messed something up. Either during moving of the branch to new repo or else.
I fixed it again. Hopefully last time

Just a heads up. I recently updated the Preference package to rc2 and it seems the fix did not make it into this release either. The return types are still bound to Object.
Is this intentional?
