Hmm I see how that can be problematic.
So the best way would be cut off the suffix and also limit the amount of characters I guess?

You're right long documented name from swarm is a problem ; in production we dont need all these kind of details but sometimes when nothing working you have to control in detail and it's really painfull to find relevant information due to swarm verbosity.
IMAO Up xx minutes is less important than knowing the exact container name and also the fact that prefix name is fixed by user/app ("my stack name"+"my docker name" + "swarmid") and suffix is swarm generated which is not the most relevant part for me.
I dont know if you have other use cases from users ?

So I experimented with various things and came to the realization that whatever I try to improve your situation, I might make other cases worse because which part of the naming scheme is important for someone changes for various different connection types and use cases.
I settled on two things for now:
- I reworked the layout to better handle longer names in general
- I added the ability to quickly rename any entries without having to validate the connection. So you can just click on edit for any container and change the name. It will also persist on refresh. That way you can quickly set a recognizable display name while still also having access to the original name if you go to details
You can try out how this works for you in the latest version of https://github.com/xpipe-io/xpipe-ptb

The changes are now included in the latest release.
It's not perfect bud should make it a little bit more manageable

With the latest quick access functionality, the full name should be visible when opening the quick access menu. I guess this can be closed. It's not a perfect solution, but I don't think we can't find anything better.
