Thanks for reporting this @christopherbalz , I can reproduce this error. Ideally both of these test name should not work, as YUITest expects you to start the test method name with "test" or have word "should" in it.
http://yuilibrary.com/yuitest/#testcases
Test methods are indicated by their name, either using the traditional manner of prepending the word test to the method name, or using a "friendly name," which is a sentence containing the word "should" that describes the test's purpose.
I tried running my sample test with these names
"test foo-bar.bat_baz"
"foo-bar should .bat_baz"
they both worked. So its critical that you start your test method names with "test" or have a world "should". Keep in mind "foo-bar.bat_should_baz" wont work. As YUITest expects should with spaces before and after.
YUITest does not throw any error in this case , just skips the tests. Hence its tough for arrow to tell you something specific. I am closing this bug for now , but if you have an idea to improve our error messages , please reopen this issue or create a new one.
Best,
Pranav
