Feature Request: indirect assignment of serialization attributes about yaxlib

Kind of like a 'fluent' api would be nice:

serializerConfig.YAXSerializeAs(x=>x.SurfaceAreaLongerNameThanItShouldBe, "SurfaceArea");

👍 Yeah, I have such patterns in my mind. Also the class, enums, and attributes names will be changed in v3 of the library. Hopefully leading to a more modern looking API.

Any idea of timeframe?

Not quite sure. Maybe a few months. Since I work on the library only in my free time, and cannot do anything during work-time, I really have a limited amount of time to dedicate to it. However many parts of the API refactoring has been done through one of the (kind) contributions, and is already available through one of pull requests. Since I'm not yet finished with v2, I haven't started on v3, and haven't yet merged that pull request.

• The discussion on codeplex is not accessible any more.
• From the posts in this issues I would assume this could be achieved by a custom serializer, also with separation of concerns in mind . But I may be wrong.
• Should we keep this issue open?
